Toyota sets 2014 prices for FJ Cruiser, Land Cruiser, Prius v, Sequoia, Sienna, Venza and Camry

TORRANCE, Calif., August 2, 2013– -Toyota Motor Sales has announced product and price changes for a number of 2014 model year vehicles. Toyota products affected by these changes include:

  • FJ Cruiser
  • Land Cruiser
  • Prius v
  • Sequoia
  • Sienna
  • Venza
  • Camry

The vehicle content changes and average percentage increase in price are summarized below:

  • FJ Cruiser increases an average of $100 (0.4%)
    • For 2014, FJ Cruiser will offer Cement Grey as a new color option, and Cavalry Blue will be discontinued
    • The truck’s suspension has been improved with an available performance damper
    • A special edition version will be available in February 2014
  • Land Cruiser increases an average of $200.00 (0.3%)
    • For 2014, Land Cruiser is a carryover model with no changes from 2013.
  • Prius v increases an average of $100 (0.4%)
    • For 2014, Prius v is equipped with standard Daytime Running Lights (DRL) for all trim levels. In addition, the Panoramic View Moonroof (currently available as part of the Advanced Technology package on Prius v Five) will be offered as a stand-alone option on Prius v Three.
  • Sequoia increases an average of $711.00 (1.3%),
    • For 2014, Sequoia is equipped with the next generation Entune™ Audio system as follows:
      • SR5 – Entune™ Audio Plus is standard, Entune™ Premium Audio with Navigation and App Suite optional
      • Limited – Entune™ Premium Audio with Navigation and App Suite is standard, Entune™ Premium JBL Audio with Navigation and App Suite is optional
      • Platinum – Entune™ Premium JBL Audio with Navigation and App Suite is standard
  • Sienna increases an average of $248.00 (0.8%)
    • For 2014MY, Sienna receives the following updates across all grades:
      • Illuminated cruise control stalk (for both regular and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control)
      • Sienna now has 3500 lbs. towing capacity standard.
      • The Towing Prep Package equipment is now standard equipment across all grades (with the exception of Mobility grades).
  • L
    • Manual lumbar support no longer offered
  • SE
    • Blind Spot Monitor will become a standalone option on SE grade
  • Venza increases an average of $259.00 (0.8%)
    • For 2014, to better match our offerings with customer demand, Venza will no longer offer the following color combinations:
      • Cosmic Gray Exterior with Ivory Fabric or Ivory Leather Interior
      • Sunset Bronze Exterior with Black Fabric or Black Leather Interior
  • XLE
    • Adds power folding outside mirrors to the list of standard equipment
  • Limited
    • 13MY standard equipment, plus:

      • Front and rear backup sonar

Camry and Camry SE Sport

  • Camry SE Sport will be re-introduced for 2014.  The SE Sport adds appealing equipment to the four-cylinder Camry that includes:
    • Standard equipment:
      • 18” Smoked Alloy wheels (currently standard on SE V6)
      • Power Driver’s Seat
      • Moonroof
    • Optional equipment:
      • The only option for Camry SE Sport is Display Audio with Entune App Suite
    • The SE Sport is value priced with an MSRP of $25,090 (without DPH) regardless of exterior color.
      • This reflects a discount of $435

Toyota vehicles and Destination, Processing, and Handling (DPH) fee 

The Destination, Processing and Handling (DPH) fees shall be increased for all vehicles except for the Large Trucks and Large SUV categories.

The DPH fee is based on the value of the processing, handling and delivery services Toyota provides.  Toyota’s objective is to set this fee at a level that is competitive with the amount charged by other manufacturers for similar services and takes into account such factors as fuel prices.

Toyota Reports 17 Percent July Sales Increase

Prius family has best-ever July; Toyota Division pickups increase 15.5 percent

TORRANCE, Calif. (August 1, 2013) – Toyota Motor Sales (TMS), U.S.A., Inc., today reported July 2013 sales results of 193,394 units, an increase of 12.6 percent over July 2012 on a daily selling rate (DSR) basis. On a raw-volume basis, unadjusted for 25 selling days in July 2013 versus 24 selling days in July 2012, TMS sales increased 17.3 percent from the year-ago month.

Toyota Division posted July 2013 sales of 173,063 units, up 11.5 percent year-over-year on a DSR basis. On a raw volume basis, Toyota Division sales were up 16.2 percent over the year-ago month.

“Solid industry sales in July point to a stable market indicating a recovering economy,” said Bill Fay, Toyota division group vice president and general manager. “Consumer confidence also maintained elevated levels as evidenced by strong retail sales. For Toyota, we saw growth year-over-year with July sales up more than 16.5 percent.”

Lexus reported July 2013 sales of 23,031 units, up 21.2 percent on a DSR basis, and up 26.3 percent over last year on a raw volume basis.

“The all-new IS is off to a great start in attracting new, younger male customers to the Lexus brand,” said Jeff Bracken, Lexus group vice president and general manager. “With new products such as the IS and widespread availability of core models including the ES and RX, we are looking forward to a strong August to set the pace for the rest of the year.”

The SpongeBob 2014 Toyota Highlander will feature a custom SpongeBob-themed exterior and an interior design that captures all of the beloved character’s high-octane energy, thereby turning the inside almost tennis ball yellow.

The SpongeBob SUV will get shown off July 13 during SpongeBob Day at the Padres vs. Giants game in San Diego, Calif. The car will then hit the road for a “Happy Driving!” promotional tour to 7 locations across the U.S.

About 1 in 5 Toyota Vehicles Sold Is a Camry


The top-selling car in the United State for the past 11 years, has been a Toyota Camry, the company proudly reported after noting it has sold 10 million copies of the sedan. Toyota claims that one in every five of its sales is a Camry, resulting in 20 percent of the vehicle volume sold by Toyota.

“We couldn’t be more excited about Camry’s 10 millionth sale in the U.S.,” said Bob Carter, senior vice president of automotive operations of Toyota Motor Sales, USA, Inc.  “With the support of so many loyal customers, Camry has truly become part of the country’s fiber.  For seven generations, Toyota dealers have also been instrumental in getting Americans behind the wheel of a Camry. Toyota’s first generation Camry was introduced to the U.S. market in 1983, selling 52,651 vehicles. Three decades later, 773 of those Camrys are still in operation.

Camry began production in Georgetown, Ky. in May of 1988. It added production of the Camry hybrid in October 2006.

J.D. Power and Associates underscored Camry’s value by ranking it number one in the midsize passenger car segment in its 2013 Initial Quality Study (IQS).

According to a NHTSA (National Highway Traffic Safety Administration) study, the foreign nameplate Camry is the most American made car with 75 percent of its content sourced domestically.

Toyota Voluntary Recall of 2010 Toyota Prius, Lexus HS 250hs

TORRANCE, Calif. (June 4, 2013) – Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Inc., today announced that it will conduct a voluntary safety recall involving approximately 87,000 model year 2010 Toyota Prius and Lexus HS 250h vehicles.

The involved vehicles are equipped with a brake pressure accumulator that may develop a fatigue crack on an internal part due to vibration.  Toyota has had no reports of any accidents or injuries associated with this condition.

Owners of vehicles subject to this recall will receive a notification by first class mail.  The recall remedy will involve inspection of the brake booster pump assembly to see if it is equipped with an involved accumulator.  If so, the dealer will replace the brake booster pump assembly with an improved one at no cost to the customer.
